International mother language day is a celebration of multilingualism, calling for the recognition of all languages. For the Bengalis, it is also a day to remember those sacrificed their life to establish the right to speak in their mother tongue Bangla. Words, spoken or written, create a bridge between thoughts, ideas and feelings. When words become poetry, it speaks to all individuals, helping to express love, loss, grief, agony, or happiness. Language can be a source of connection and empowerment.

BSK UK celebrates the 21st February as International Mother Language Day and invites the community from different languages and different ethnic background to show respect to every culture and language.
